Champex Redux

So the crew assembled again with 2 new Mags from TGR (Cedric and Constantine) to get some at Champex. The snow was not even close to the first day but we had fun in the tress and another good day was had by all.




..and of course a few beers in the parking lot after ;-)

So the continued into the week and Jay and I coordinated a Friday road trip. We knew it dumped in many parts of CH but Jay made the call to where the most had fallen...Saas Fee...so at 6AM in the morning I left GE and headed to get Jay and off up the Valais and to Saas. Here are the pics of a great day with a good friend!

This is on the Top 10 best days EVER! We left the mtn that day with the biggest smiles on our faces and knew we scored some of the best snow in Europe!

La Fouly?

Yes La Fouly!!!! So as other people headed to the mega resorts of the 4 Vallee and Chamonix we headed to another small station in CH called La Fouly. Upon arrival we met up with a TGR buddy named Mike. The crew today was Jay, Tom, Tam, and KK. Upon arrival we saw that we made the right choice to places to hit. Empty and some perfect snow! Tres bon!

The day was again close to perfect. Great snow, great friends, and sunny weather.

Overall I we loved La Fouly and will hit it up again later in the seaon. Small, fun, friendly, and some of the best views I have seen in CH!

...so will you marry me? (she said ????)

So the snow cycle continued to run it's course through CH, IT, and FR the crew, KK, and I headed to the little know resort of Champex-Lac. Over the week it had snowed, some say more, over 90CM (3feet!) This was the first day the resort opened for the season and we were there for the first lifts of the 08/09 season.
Al and Jay get first lift:

Everyone was there from the crew (Al, Jay, Tam, Tom, Fabien, Matt) but no one else!

We counted 20 people total and we were 8!
From the first run it was on...perfect snow and BIG smiles!

The day set up perfect. Friends, pow, snowing lightly, smiles, no people around...and I decided it was a perfect place to ask the big question:

...and she said YES!!! (I will give the long version to friends and fams when I see you next)

We met back up with the crew and hugs and kisses followed!

We ended the day with a good bye to Champex and KK and I went to Sallion for a soak and up to Nendaz to relax for the night. Thanks to all my friends that made this day even more special. KK and I talked about this on the ride down the hill...you guys rock!

As I enter into another chapter of my life I know that I am blessed to have such a supportive, loving, caring person to join me along the way. -G
