Another down weekend...but that is cool...we love CH!
So the temps rose again to almost 18C here in GE this past weekend, but that was OK we had a plan. Off to Lausanne and Bern for a nice weekend of friend, fun, and crazy guys on ice skates.
Friday night we headed up to Lausanne for a KK and GG pre-wedding dinner with the L-crew (Tam, Tom AKA: TNT, Jen and Jay) Jen had wanted to go out to a nice dinner for a pre-wedding celebration and this weekend was the perfect one. We headed up Friday night and had a great dinner at a fusion restaurant in Lausanne.
The next AM we woke up and KK and I headed to ring shop in Bern.
No luck on the rind but a few options to confuse KK ;-)
That night the crew surprised KK with a pre-B-Day dinner (thanks Jen) and after we headed out to the Red Bull Crashed event.
Saturday night we rolled home and got ready for a relaxing Sunday.
Sunday came around and delivered a sunny and warm day. We got up at the crack of 10 and headed for a nice 2 hour bike ride around GE. After a quick stop at the Marche in Croix du Rozon we got back and had a very, very, nice B-fast on the deck.
Overall a great weekend we will remember as the start of Spring....but I know more snow is to come :-)
Much love to our family and friends as always..thanks for the great support that lets us enjoy the lives we do..GG

4 in 2 and 3 for 3..the POW RETURNS!
So after a week of no snow it returned with a vengeance. The lower Valais and Bernese Oberland got hit with up to 3 feet for fresh pow. On Friday J, Alex, Al, and me headed to Champex Lac to catch the back end of the storm cycle...and it was on!
The ride there:
Germans do love cheese and bread for b-fast:
..and powder!
...capacity crowd on hand!
After scralping Champex it was time to head to Vichere which is on the same ticket about 30 minutes up the road. So we jumped in the car to find this :-)
The day was perfect until about 4:30 when we heard that there was an avalanche blocking the road to Lausanne. :-(
So we were stuck..so we waited and waited and waited..dig, dig, dig.....4+ hours later we escaped to meet KK and Jen in Lausanne.
That night I took a shower, drank a beer, and cuddled into bed with KK and J+Js praying the snow would be great again.
The next AM the storm had clear and it was off to Leysin with the full crew of Al, Tam, Tom, KK, and J. KK was all hyped up for mad pow.....so we had to find the goods...first run backside delivered for her:
..and Al too!
J??? Yup!
WOOOHOOO!!!
After 3 laps down the backside it was decision time and KK call G3. G3 was closed all morning and it looked like the clouds had lifted to deliver. After a 30 minute rip over to G3 it was on again....and when I mean on..I mean EPIC SNOW!!!!
KK:
Tom:
J:
G:
Unbelievable...over the head, face shots, WOOOHOOO!!! Top 3 days of a great 08/09.
That night I headed to Bern to meet up with Paul, Pedro, and Rob and KK stayed with the Lausanne crew.
Sunday was a repeat, but a little more tracked. I got to G3 around 12 and was able to make a few laps with Tam, Tom, and KK.
As I always say...more to come...but it will be tough to top this one!

Down weekend..no snow but Euroland still rocks!
So the snow stopped for the first time this winter on the weekend of the 1st we decided to head to France to check out Lyon. Both of us had been there but not together so this was the first excursion together. The weather shaped up great with temps reaching around 15c on Saturday. It was perfect for strolling around the main shopping streets and just having a nice day. (IPhone Pics)
Both of us bought a little gear and we headed home, picked up some take out Chinese, and chilled.
On Sunday we got up early and grab the bikes for a little ride to Croix du Rozon for the Marche. After a short ride we hit the Marche to pick up the goods for a nice pancake B-fast. That afternoon we caught up on some unfinished ski mounting (see new boots for B-day) and waxing.
Even though we didn't ski it was a great weekend catching up on rest and relaxing together in CH and FR.

A little night ski....and G(Three)
So KK and I were looking for some activity to do during the week...so with a little snow coming down in GE we headed off to St. Cergue to get some turns in on a Tuesday night. Upon arrival is was snowing hard but with a little warm breeze. We plucked on the boots and skied over to the two tow lifts that service the 250M vertical hill they use for night skiing. 15CHF later we were skiing.
KK and I had a blast playing around and trying to take cool shots in snow:
At around 9:30 we called it a night and headed back to GE.
A few more days of work passed and it was the weekend again so a sunny day called and it was off with Jay, Alex, Tam, Tom, and KK to G3. Earlier that week it snowed, but because of our busy schedule we could not escape until Saturday...but that did not matter there was still good snow if you traversed over a few 200M cliffs ;-)

So most of the day the boys skied to together and the girls skied separately. So at the end of the day we were to meet at the infamous Rooster bar. Upon arrival we found the girls in the hot tub...so Tom and Jay joined too!
We ended the day with a beer and headed to Jay's for a nice dinner. Again a great weekend of snow, adventure, and friends.....so last but not least a little vid of the adventure part...
