VTT with the boys in Les Deux Alpes! WOOHOO!!!
So Tom, Jay, PK, and I have been planning a long weekend to FR for some DH all season. This past weekend shaped up perfectly and it was on! Gear check!
Friday AM I met up with Jay and Tom on the autoroute into FR.
After about a 3 hour drive we arrived at Les 2!
After checking into our digs....
It was time to ride!
J:
Tom:
G:
UNBELIEVABLE!!! This place is just stunning and the riding was great! After 5 hours we were pooped, so grabbed some beer and had a little drink on our decks!
..and then another in town:
a little dinner and then a little Wii!
Luckily PK was able to join us around 10 so one last beer and we headed to bed. The next AM was perfect again so PK and I got up early and headed for a little ski!
PK:
1 run Jay:
The skiing was your normal summer fare but worth getting back on the boards.
Back to the village and it was time to refuel and off to bike again:
GG:
PK:
...OUCH!! (End of PKs weekend..but he is OK...those tough Scnadis!!)
Tom:
Jay:
Another great day!!! That night a few more drinks and food (PK was damaged but OK)
Sunday turned into a repeat of Saturday without the skiing. Great weather and perfect riding conditions. Tom, Jay, and I explored the rest of the area and found some cool new places. (Video to come once edited)
3 hours back to CH and KK was waiting with a nice dinner made. A great way to cap off a great weekend! Thanks boys for a great time..we will need to do it again soon! -G

Spa-ing in Strasbourg......
So the move started and in the last minute we were succesful in getting a great new place in Grand Lancy/Carouge on July 31st for August 1st (seperate post to come)....with that down what better thing to do then go on a little break from moving than to Alsace. August 1st was National Day in CH so we had the day off. After a night before of Ikea/Pfister shopping extraveganza it was off in the AM to FR. On the way to Strasbourg we stopped in Colmar for lunch. Colmar is a nice little town just outside Strasbourg. It was raining, but we enjoyed the Flambees at a street cafe. We were not staying in Strasbourg exactly but in a small area 50 north near La Petite Pierre.
Bordering town:
Upon arrival we found a very cool hotel/spa in the forest.

After about 30 minutes sorting our stuff in the room it was off to the spa for a nice massage. That night we enjoyed a nice Organic/Bio dinner at the hotel and just chilled.
The next day the weather turned much nicer and it was off to Strasbourg.
We spent most the day exploring, shopping, and eating...overall Strasbourg is a very nice city and I would reccomend it to anyone. It is a very nice mix of old and new...and stunning as you can see. That afternoon we headed back to the hotel...but on the way enjoyed the countryside.
Sunday we had a nice breakfast, went to the spa, and then it was back to CH! A great weekend again and nice feeling to chill after stressing about a place to live for the past 3 months!
